Today, Linda Duke lead a lively and educational online session which included Ed Frechette, SVP of Marketing for Au Bon Pain and Vaughn Lazar, CEO of Pizza Fusion. Linda discussed with these two top restaurant brand leaders the importance of standing out in a tough economy. Frechette, of Au Bon Pain, touched on the importance of choice whether it be quick meals on the go or healthy eating. He also noted that it is very important to stay true to your brand and always recognize loyal customers. Lazar of Pizza Fusion discussed Pizza Fusion's ability to combine organic eating, health, sustainability and community involvement to build a strong, connected brand. Linda also got several chances to interject marketing tips to help restaurant brands, many of which can be found in her book Recipes for Restaurateurs. Linda touched on ways to bounce back in tough economic times, how to integrate marketing efforts for stronger return and some of the opportunities that restaurants can benefit from by partnering with vendors. Overall, the web seminar was very successful, the audience had some wonderful questions and the speakers were inspiring. The webinar even attracted some listeners from Australia and South America!
