STAMP OUT CHILD HUNGER EAT OUT TONIGHT!

September 19th - September 25th

The Great American Dine Out, the annual fundraiser kicked off yesterday and continues this week with over 4,000 restaurants participating. Restaurants across the nation will band together to raise funds to stamp out child hunger in America.

By dining out at a participating restaurant this week, you can help make a difference in child hunger.

Nearly 17 million children in America struggle with hunger. That’s almost 1 in 4 kids. In the world’s wealthiest nation, childhood hunger is simply unacceptable. Hunger impairs our children’s health, growth and development in significant and long-lasting ways.

Children who struggle with hunger are sick more often, recover more slowly, and are more likely to be hospitalized. They are more likely to experience headaches, stomachaches, colds, ear infections and fatigue, and are more susceptible to obesity and its harmful health consequences.

Hunger impairs a child’s ability to concentrate and perform well in school. Teachers report higher levels of hyperactivity, absenteeism and tardiness among children who don’t get enough nutritious food.
Hungry children are more likely to develop behavioral and emotional problems and suffer from aggression and anxiety.

In short, children who struggle with hunger fall behind in every way. Ending childhood hunger will strengthen America, now and for generations to come.
