EARLY BIRDS EAT COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST AT FURR'S FRESH BUFFET GRAND OPENING IN HOUSTON

Local Resident Wins Free Furr's for a Year!

After the wee hours of the morning, a line of guests stretching around the new Furr's Fresh Buffet, in Spring, Texas (a suburb of Houston) at I-45 & Louetta, were welcomed into the newest restaurant for donating food items to the Houston Food Bank's Backpack Buddy Program which feeds hungry children, and treated to a complimentary breakfast buffet. Each guest entered to win the grand prize and one lucky winner, a local resident, walked away with a gift card worth $750 to enjoy Furr's for a year! The Duke Marketing team entertained guests who waited patiently until the doors opened at 7:00 a.m and were treated to trivia games, recieved gift cards, and Furr's ball caps for correct answers.

Houston Food Bank executive, John Kirby, thanked guests for donating and explained the Backpack Buddy Program. "The Houston Food Bank partners with dozens of schools to provide food for children at-risk of going hungry over a weekend or holiday. Last year, we helped over 2600 children through the BackPack program."

Furr's president, Greg Buchanan, made a check presentation to the Food Bank from a percentage of proceeds of the first week's sales. “It’s important to us that our restaurant is a place where families and friends can come together to share a meal and enjoy a variety of fresh, nutritious food at a reasonable price. It’s equally important to us to help make a difference in the communities we serve. We’re thrilled to help guarantee that the Backpack Buddy program and the Houston Food Bank will continue to be able to provide food to thousands of children in our area.”

The first four guests lined up to win free Furr's for a year at 5:00 a.m.!
