Powell's Sweet Shoppe’s are a nostalgic re-creation of the classic and bygone era of a local neighborhood candy store, with over 5000 varieties of old fashioned and hard to find candies. When you enter, it reminds us of things that are close to our hearts – memories, family, and community. The entire experience is like time-traveling back to your grandmother’s kitchen when she made cookies, peanut-brittle or fudge.

Powell’s has garnered accolades from the San Francisco Chronicle, which unofficially proclaimed Powell’s as “The Smithsonian of candy stores”. Michael Powell, the founder and chairman of Powell’s Sweet Shoppe, is proud of the magical effect the stores have on nearly all of their customers. “We are your friendly neighborhood candy store. Our approach is traditional – connect to the customer and to their community. Part of that is being located close to where our customers live, go to school, attend church, and play soccer. And the Novato community is perfect for that particular brand of Americana.”

Besides its wide variety of candy, Powell’s also features Gelato, and specialty gifts from yester year. Remember yesterday, today. Powell’s is located at 879 Grant Avenue, Novato, CA 94945, and is open seven days a week: 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
