FAST CASUAL SUMMIT SEVEN YEAR VETERAN AND CALIFORNIA NATIVE, LINDA DUKE, PICKS TOP CONCEPTS TO VISIT WHILE AT SAN DIEGO EVENT
San Diego boasts over twenty different Fast Casual concepts to visit and is home to some of the brands Duke will be visiting, as one of the tour bus leaders, on the Food Tour at the kickoff of the Fast Casual Summit, 11am, Sunday, October 21st, 2012. Linda Duke, who was born in San Diego, and CEO of Duke Marketing, will lead her tour to the popular San Diego based Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill, Daphne’s California Greek, Burger Lounge and The Counter. For those that can’t make the Food Tour or want other recommendations of concepts to visit while in town, Duke created a Concept Watch list for operators to review prior to their visit and have the opportunity to see and taste some of California’s top Fast Casual Concepts. Besides visiting the amazing California concepts while in San Diego, Ms. Duke, will also be leading an important panel at the Summit, Tuesday, October 23rd at 10:30 a.m. “From Turmoil to Turnaround” with Jim Greco, CEO of Sbarro restaurants, Carl Howard, CEO of Fazoli’s, both concepts will share their turnaround story, and Mark Wayne of ANX Data Protection, who will discuss the increase in cyber criminals and what operators need to do to protect their customer data and more importantly, their brands , from these new cyber—hacker—criminals. “Unfortunately this is a subject that needs to be addressed,” said Duke. “I will be sharing some scary details from a Fast Casual chain that was recently hacked and how they were damaged and how they are trying to turn it around. It isn’t a pretty story, but today’s savvy operators must be prepared.”
